On the same road, for thousand years, we know,
In vast abysses rocking his huge sphere,
Neptune loves Terra, it is crystal clear –
A wretched world, so full of sin and woe...
But he has never crossed the threshold here
Leaving behind his solitude divine –
And maybe now we witness her decline:
A murky shadow fills her atmosphere.
Neptune, you cannot see from far away
Her dark eclipse, because you lack a glass –
When the pure planet, young, full of dismay,
Is wondering and feels the pain, alas:
“What does the stylish Venus every day
Do in darkness all alone with Mars?”
